Graded Cards as Investment — A 2026 Market Analysis
Are graded Pokemon cards still a good investment? We analyze PSA 10 price trends and identify the best cards to grade this year.

The State of the Market
The graded card market has matured significantly since the pandemic-era boom. While the explosive price increases of 2020-2021 have normalized, the market has found stable ground with steady appreciation for high-grade vintage cards and modern chase cards. PSA 10 grades continue to command significant premiums over raw cards.
Best Cards to Grade in 2026
Focus on cards with strong nostalgic appeal and limited print runs. Vintage Base Set holos remain blue-chip investments. For modern cards, Prismatic Evolutions Eeveelutions, Crown Zenith Galarian Gallery, and 151 Illustration Rares offer the best grading potential. Always check PSA population reports before submitting — lower populations mean higher potential value.
PSA vs CGC vs BGS
PSA remains the gold standard for Pokemon cards, commanding the highest premiums. CGC has gained market share with competitive pricing and detailed sub-grades. BGS (Beckett) is preferred for sports cards but has a smaller Pokemon following. For maximum resale value, we recommend PSA for Pokemon and One Piece cards.
Tips for New Investors
Start with what you know and love. Buy the card, not the hype. Always factor in grading costs (฿1,500-3,000 per card depending on service level) and potential grade outcomes. A PSA 9 is worth significantly less than a PSA 10 for most modern cards. Inspect cards carefully before submitting — centering and surface condition are the most common reasons for sub-10 grades.
